Last week marked three decades since The Simpsons first appeared, and I've been a viewer from day one (yes, I watched The Tracey Ullman Show).
Irrespective of one's fandom bona fides, perhaps an Itchy & Scratchy T-shirt isn't the ideal garment to wear when asking your apartment-complex-crush out on a date, but that's what I had on when (20 years ago) I mustered up the confidence to knock on her door. She politely declined.
