I was big into Dungeons & Dragons in 6th grade, devouring the original Player's Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master's Guide (I still have the location of the combat tables memorized: page 74). No social gathering was complete without a small bag of Platonic solids (the 10-sided die is an abomination).
My D&D obsession also manifested itself via fan art, showcasing the surprising revelation that five gold pieces buys you either a healing potion or a can of Sunkist (same thing, really).
