Eighteen years ago this week, The Daily Texan celebrated its hundredth year. There was a big gathering at the LBJ Auditorium on October 1; Texan alums Walter Cronkite and Lady Bird Johnson cut the centennial cake.
I was part of the Texas Student TV production crew that recorded panels featuring prominent Texan alums discussing the subject "Journalism and Democracy: Will the Marriage Last?".
