The University of New Orleans' men's basketball team returns to March Madness today via the play-in game that will determine the opponent for defending champ Villanova. The Privateers are my hometown team; UNO is both of my parents' alma mater.
UNO is reclaiming its basketball legacy following a difficult recovery from Hurricane Katrina. The team was consistently strong during Tim Floyd's time as head coach; there were four Privateers on NBA rosters during the 1994-1995 season (Ervin "Voodoo" Johnson, Ledell Eackles, Ronnie Grandison, Tony Harris).
