I spent 7th & 8th grades at Edward Livingston Middle School, which was located about a block from the house my Mom grew up in. My recollection is that Livingston had an interesting demographic mix, with roughly equal numbers of black, white, and Vietnamese students.
My fellow "Gifted & Talented" classmates and I were largely insulated from Livingston's otherwise rough-and-tumble atmosphere, save for P.E.; I spent as little time in the locker room as possible (I don't recall ever taking a shower).
